TFCA Case Study: HarmonyTALK

Client Background

HarmonyTALK Podcast is an inspirational podcast that showcases conversations with Dreamers and Doers who have turned their dreams into reality - often against great odds. Guests range from entrepreneurs and athletes to authors, educators, inventors, and musicians.

When HarmonyTALK came to us, they had just two podcast seasons under their belt but no digital presence. With only their original logo as a starting point, they needed a cohesive brand identity, a professional online home, and strategic content promotion to reach listeners beyond their local circle.

The Challenge

Before working with us, HarmonyTALK had no systems in place. Their inspiring stories lacked a repeatable promotion strategy, which limited their reach to only those directly connected to the podcast.

As a nonprofit-run program, resources were scarce. The team recognized they needed outside expertise to gain traction and brand awareness.

The numbers showed the challenge clearly:

2021: 1,807 total downloads (1,462 of those from India)

2022: 901 total downloads - a steep decline that highlighted the need for consistency and broader audience growth.

Our Approach

We began by providing social media management and content creation to establish HarmonyTALK’s online presence. Over time, our role expanded into a full creative strategy partnership, including:

  • Designing a cohesive brand identity and podcast episode covers.

  • Developing a new website to showcase their growing catalog on a platform they own.

  • Launching their email marketing initiative.

  • Acting as overall strategist - managing guest vetting, outreach, and episode scheduling for both HarmonyTALK’s main feed and their partnership with WVIA (a regional NPR and PBS station).

 

To bring order to the complexity of a multi-person team, we built a living spreadsheet system to track guests, production timelines, and WVIA communications. This structure streamlined collaboration and ensured consistency across all channels.

The Results

Our partnership has driven measurable, sustained growth:

  • 2023: 1,296 downloads - a 43.8% increase from 2022, with the majority now from U.S. audiences.

  • 2024: 3,060 downloads - a 136% increase after TFCA expanded into strategic roles mid-year.

  • 2025 (to date): Already surpassed 2024 downloads and on track for 30.9% growth this year.

 

For context: the typical annual podcast growth rate is ~20%. HarmonyTALK’s results exceeded industry averages, showing the impact of a consistent, strategic digital media approach.

  • Press coverage in local media outlets.

  • A strong, professional online presence attractive to listeners and high-quality guests.

  • Confidence and systems to support weekly episode releases (previously bi-weekly, often with encores).
